I mostly use the rules from the dnd 2014 rules. However, there are some exceptions or additions. And some of the 2024 rules are just so much more usable.

Homebrew rules i think are useful:

Drinking Potions as bonus action

Potions can be applied as a bonus action. Potions can also be applied as a full action for the maximum effect.

2024 conditions

The conditions of the 2024 rules are usually more streamlined. Especially for Exhaustion. Exhaustion now has the following effects:

• reduce speed by 5ft/condition level
• reduce d20 rolls by -2/condition level
• you die at condition level 6

Hidden death saving throws

Death saving throws are rolled by the DM instead of the player.

Rule of Cool

The rules may be bent for something cool or unintended but fun.
